Knowledgeable of the baseline standards and are adequately trained to carry out their duties in accordance with standards.

Our duty is to house incarcerated offenders in a manner that protects the public and institutional safety while providing a legal standard of care and to provide programs intended to reduce the Likelihood of re-incarceration.

We will comply with the Kentucky Jail Standards to ensure full compliance.

Civil War

The Battle of Tebbs Bend at Green River Bridge is a well-known portion of Taylor County's history. Col. Orlando H. Moore's men were from Michigan and some Taylor Countians served under Confederate General John Hunt Morgan. Unfortunately for Morgan, history saw a stunning Union victory at the Battle of Tebbs Bend on Green River.
