Campbellsville Water & Sewer System is accepting applications for Water Treatment Plant Operator

 

Primary duty is operation and maintenance of a Class 4 surface water treatment plant.  Requirements include: passing grade on Class 1 water treatment operator exam between 12 months and 18 months of employment; passing grade on Class 2 and Class 3 exams within 18 months from one level to the next; passing grade on Class 4 exam within 72 months (6 years) of employment; valid Kentucky driver’s license; and a high school diploma or equivalent.

 

College classes or degree in particular scientific fields may allow successful candidate to sit for exams sooner than the above schedule.  Candidates possessing any Surface Water Treatment Plant Certification would have preference.

 

Examples of duties include:  conducting chemical and physical analyses; adjusting chemical feed equipment; monitoring all treatment equipment and adjusting as necessary; operating solids processing equipment; maintaining proper records and reports; monitoring distribution system performance and reporting problems to Distribution Supervisor and Service Watch on-call personnel; some light equipment maintenance such as changing oils, greasing equipment, and painting; and maintaining plant cleanliness.
